Party school rankings are static. See what bars, venues, and campus events are offering tonight in every U.S. college town with 4,000+ undergrads.
Party Schools Ranked? How to Find What's Actually Happening Tonight in Your College Town
If you searched "party schools ranked," you probably want to know where students actually go out and what's worth doing. A ranked list can't tell you that for a specific night. collegetowns.live shows what local bars, restaurants, shops, venues, and campus happenings are offering in college towns, posted by the businesses themselves.
Why "party school" rankings only tell part of the story
Rankings are static. They come out once, get shared around, and stay the same while the actual town keeps changing. They can't tell you:
- Which bar has a special tonight
- What venue has an event this weekend
- Which restaurant is open late after a game or a show
- What's happening on or near campus right now
A school's reputation also says little about whether there's something *you* would enjoy on a given Tuesday. The better question isn't "which school parties hardest?" It's "what's going on in this town tonight?"
What makes a college town's nightlife
A good night out in a college town is rarely just one thing. It's usually a mix of:
- Bars with specials, trivia, live music, or watch parties
- Restaurants serving late-night food or deals near campus
- Venues hosting concerts, comedy, and events
- Shops running promotions students care about
- Campus happenings that bring people together, whether or not drinking is involved
Plenty of the best social life in a college town has nothing to do with alcohol. Food, music, games, and events count too. And if you're under 21, the same page can point you to what's open and welcoming to you.
How to see what's going on tonight on collegetowns.live
Pick your college town and browse its page. That's it.
- No account needed. Anyone can browse a college town's page without signing up.
- Listings are curated daily by the businesses themselves. The bars, restaurants, venues, and shops post what they're offering, so the page reflects what's current rather than what was true when a list was written.
Because businesses post their own listings, check the details (times, terms, age requirements) in each promo before you head out.
Which college towns are covered
Every college town in the U.S. with an undergraduate student body of 4,000 or more is listed on collegetowns.live. Whether you're a current student, a prospective student checking out the social scene before you commit, or a visitor in town for a game or graduation, you can look up the town and see what local businesses are posting.
Late-night deals and time-specific specials
College nightlife doesn't run on a 9-to-5 schedule, and neither do the promos. Vendors can write their hours or the exact times a deal is valid directly into the promo description. That means a listing can say something like a special is only good after midnight, or that the kitchen stays open late.
The site's promo day is built for this, too: a promo day runs from 4:00 AM to 4:00 AM the following day, in the local time zone of the promo address. A late-night special that runs past midnight still belongs to the same promo day.
For local bars and venues: get your nightlife promos in front of students
If you run a bar, restaurant, venue, or shop in a college town, collegetowns.live is a place to show students what you're offering tonight.
- Free until January 1, 2027. You can post promos at no cost until then.
- After that, $1 to $5 per day. Promos start at as little as $1 per day.
- Higher bids rank higher. Higher daily bids appear higher on a college town's page.
Placement depends on bids and other promos in your town, so there's no guaranteed top spot. Write clear, specific promos: what the deal is, when it's valid, and who it's for.
Promo basics for vendors
Before you post, here's how promos work:
- One town, up to seven days. Each promo books a single daily price slot in one college town for up to seven consecutive days.
- 4 AM to 4 AM promo days. Each day runs 4:00 AM to 4:00 AM in the local time zone of the promo address.
- First-time review. First-time promos are reviewed before they go live, so plan ahead for your first one.
- Dates are final. Booked dates cannot be changed after purchase.
- Authorized vendors only. You may only post promos for businesses or events you are authorized to represent.
- Local focus. The site may reject large national advertisers or chains that try to outspend local vendors for top slots.
- Photo retention. Promo photos are automatically deleted 30 days after the promo run ends.
- Policy removals. Paid bookings removed for policy reasons may be refunded at the site's discretion.
Please keep promos responsible. Note age requirements where they apply, and don't target or encourage underage drinking.
